Who Are We?

Paiute Pipeline Company (Paiute), a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Gas Corporation (Southwest Gas), is a natural gas transmission company subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

In 1963, Southwest Gas brought gas into northern Nevada by constructing a new natural gas transmission line from the Idaho-Nevada border southwesterly across the northern tier of the State to the Carson City/Reno-Sparks area as well as Lake Tahoe. Along the way, mining and farming communities from Elko to Yerington were converted to natural gas service.

Paiute currently operates an 894-mile transmission system extending from the Idaho-Nevada border to the Nevada-California border. The Paiute system also includes an LNG peak shaving facility outside of Lovelock, Nevada.
